My name is Kristýna and I have lived in Brno all my life. Despite growing up in the city, I have always been very close to nature. In 2017, I fulfilled my childhood dream and became the owner of a Paint Horse colt and I am happy to say that I have never regretted this rash decision in my life. The colt was named
Chester, because he resembled the breed of cattle "chestnut" (Czech spotted cattle) in an incredible way. Since his birth, we have been through an incredible amount of different stories, experiences, diagnoses, problems, but also joys.
Chester is a curious, courageous and enthusiastic horse to work with humans. At the moment, in his 5 years, we are working on gradual saddling and otherwise trying to work according to the principles of academic work. We attend various workshops, courses and webinars and try to show that a gradual approach focused on the welfare of the horse, both physically and mentally, pays off and bears fruit.
The main focus of our work is working from the ground, which I use to lay the foundation for more than just the riding horse. We learn tricks, fool around in the loose, climb extreme trail and work on the longe, whether on one or two. We go for walks, just for a run, or just chill together. I believe that a variety of not only training, but also time spent together, is the foundation for a willing horse that tries to please humans. I have raised and trained Chester alone since he was a youngster, although he is the first young horse I have worked with. My support system is the friends and trainers I have had the privilege of meeting, either in individual lessons or on courses.
Since Chester came into my life, I have been continually educating myself.
That's why I became a member of the KoněČesky team, which is a platform for the education of riders and horse owners. In the team, I not only act as a translator, but also as a supporting force in organizing and hosting courses, as well as in making them more visible and popular. I believe that continuous education is the only key to not getting stuck in our relationship with the horse and always being able to meet his needs.
When working with a young horse, I focus on developing natural balance and self carriage and never use any kind of exercise. The horse learns to work with his body on his own, without external influences. In training I focus on developing a balanced, confident horse that will be ready to face any situation.
I would be happy to meet you at one of our classes or in the online world. 🙌
